Have some Easter fun with Preschool Music and Fingerplays

Preschool music, songs, and fingerplays for Easter will teach music to your baby, toddler, or preschooler AND are guaranteed to make him smile! Your kids will love to sing, dance, and move (and will learn language skills, motor skills, and more!)

There are so many fun Easter songs and fingerplays to do with your preschooler. Want to be creative? For instant themed preschool music... use your favorite kid songs and change the theme to bunnies, eggs, baskets, or chicks.

The following are the song lyrics and motions for some of our favorite Easter songs and Easter fingerplays.

I hope you enjoy using preschool music this Easter!

A Tisket, A Tasket (this is a shortened version of this song... easier for your preschooler)
A-tisket a-tasket
A green and yellow basket
I wrote a letter to my love
And on the way I dropped it

I dropped it, I dropped it
Yes, on the way I dropped it

Was it red? No, no, no, no
Was it brown? No, no, no, no
Was it blue? No, no, no, no
Just a little yellow basket

(REPEAT)

Little Bunny Foo Foo (Do this song with motions…)

Little Bunny Foo Foo, (hold up 2 fingers & “hop” them)
Hopping through the forest
Scooping up the field mice (pretend to scoop with your hand open)
And boppin' 'em on the head (“bop” your open hand on top of your other in a closed fist)

Down came the good fairy and she said (“sprinkle” your fingers down)
"Little Bunny Foo Foo, (point your finger like you’re scolding)
I don't want to see you
Scooping up the field mice (scoop)
And boppin' 'em on the head. (bop)
I'll give you three chances, (hold out 3 fingers)
And if you don't behave (point your finger again)
I'll turn you into a goon!"

The next day: (repeat motions with each verse)

Little Bunny Foo Foo,
Hopping through the forest
Scooping up the field mice
And boppin' 'em on the head

Down came the good fairy and she said
"Little Bunny Foo Foo,
I don't want to see you
Scooping up the field mice
And boppin' 'em on the head.
I'll give you two more chances,
And if you don't behave
I'll turn you into a goon!"

The next day:

Little Bunny Foo Foo,
Hopping through the forest
Scooping up the field mice
And boppin' 'em on the head

Down came the good fairy and she said
"Little Bunny Foo Foo,
I don't want to see you
Scooping up the field mice
And boppin' 'em on the head.
I'll give you one more chance,
And if you don't behave
I'll turn you into a goon!"

The next day:

Little Bunny Foo Foo,
Hopping through the forest
Scooping up the field mice
And boppin' 'em on the head

Down came the good fairy and she said
"Little Bunny Foo Foo,
I didn't want to see you
Scooping up the field mice
And boppin' 'em on the head.
I gave you three chances
And you didn't behave
Now you're a goon! POOF!!"

Jesus is Alive Today (tune: Mary Had a Little Lamb)
Jesus is alive today,
Alive today,
Alive today.
Jesus is alive today,
For it’s Easter morning.

Here Comes Peter Cottontail
Here comes Peter Cottontail
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Hippity hoppity,
Easter's on its way

Bringin' ev'ry girl and boy
A basketful of Easter joy
Things to make your Easter
Bright and gay

He's got jelly beans for Tommy
Colored eggs for sister Sue
There's an orchid for your mommy
And an Easter bonnet too. Oh!

Here comes Peter Cottontail
Hoppin' down the bunny trail
Hippity hoppity
Happy Easter Day!

Easter Bonnet (Written by Irving Berlin)

In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it,
You'll be the grandest lady in the Easter Parade.
I'll be all in clover and when they look you over,
I'll be the proudest fellow in the Easter Parade.
On the avenue, Fifth Avenue, the photographers will snap us,
And you'll find that you're in the rotogravure.
Oh, I could write a sonnet about your Easter bonnet,
And of the girl I'm taking to the Easter Parade.
