Fun Preschool Math Activities to Help your Preschooler Learn

Don't be afraid to teach your child math! There are tons of fun preschool math activities for kids that teach while you play.

Math for preschoolers is so much more than counting and math worksheets. Have fun and learn with preschool math games, activities, crafts, and more.

So...exactly what are appropriate preschool and toddler math activities?

It is never too early to start counting with your child. When my children were babies, I sang them math songs and always counted during our daily routine (putting on a coat..."one arm, two arms!").

Toddlers and preschoolers will love when you use crafts and games for teaching counting and numbers . Don't worry if your toddler isn't reciting the numbers 1-10 immediately. Start slowly...try to count to 2 with your child (using arms, eyes, feet...) and slowly add numbers as she is ready.

Preschool and toddler math isn't just numbers and counting. Another important early math skill is sorting . When your preschooler practices sorting, he is learning to identify how objects are alike and different. He is also practicing matching, classification, colors, shapes, and more.
